- Is this a print or digital product?
The outfit guide is available as both an eBook and a printed hard copy (identical in content). The other included resources are all digital (outfit gallery web app, mini course, shopping guide, etc.).
- Do I have to buy a bunch of clothes for this outfit guide to work for me?
Nope. The outfit guide isn't about spending a bunch of money on new clothes. It's about discovering how to wear what you already have and exploring new pieces that can help you maximize the use of everything you won.
To that end, the outfit guide comes with a clothing checklist called a "wardrobe plan" that shows you the kinds of pieces you should have in your wardrobe. We start by shopping your closet and most moms already have most the pieces in their wardrobe.
The outfit guide will then reveal any additional gaps in your wardrobe. I help you prioritize what to shop for first by marking the most important pieces clearly (even down to what is needed in each season!).
You can then work away at adding missing clothing items as your budget allows. The shopping guide that is included is constantly updated with various price point options from Amazon to Nordstrom to Old Navy. (Many of our users shop only at thrift stores and spend very little filling in the gaps over time!)
Even without having the full list of clothing pieces recommended in the outfit guide, you will be able to explode how many outfits you create using what you already own.
This is possible because the outfit gallery web app lets you sort by specific pieces you already own so that you can start trying outfits already in your closet.
- Do I have to buy the clothes on your list for this to work?
The pieces pictured are just examples. The goal is to use the description about each piece to find something in your closet or the store that matches the description.
- Does this work for pregnant or nursing moms?
Absolutely, it's designed to work for pregnant and nursing moms too. There are tips provided under each wardrobe item on the list to help you decide whether to adapt a non-maternity item or get something specifically maternity.
You can also choose to just use the essentials from the plan during your pregnancy as the outfits that use them are clearly marked (and you can filter by them in the web app).
And finally, at least three of our models in the "Outfits on Real Moms" are expecting so you'll have plenty of examples of how the outfits look on pregnant mamas.
- Does this work for plus size too?
Yes, we have moms of every shape and size using it and looking fab! We also include plus size shopping options in the Shopping Guide that comes with the Outfit Guide.
- What if I’m over 40, will this still work for me?
Absolutely! A majority of our moms are actually in the 35-55 range. And we have many seniors using it too.

- Isn't it easy enough to come up with my own outfit combinations?
On average most people only actually wear a quarter or less of the outfit potential because they gravitate towards the looks they're used to and comfortable with.

Even though I’ve planned the different outfits in the guide myself, I still fall into ruts of wearing my pieces the same way when I don’t refer to my outfit guides!
- Is every outfit shown on a "real mom" model?
Yes all 374 outfits are modeled in the last section of the book. There is a picture of the "At Home" version of the outfit and the "Going Out" version so you can see how the layering works.
- What sizes and body shapes are the moms modeling the outfits?
There are 25+ models and they range in sizes from 2-18, heights 5' - 5'10'', and cover all the body types. There are also a few pregnant models.
- Are there any dressier outfits for outings or work?
Yes, although this is predominantly a casual capsule wardrobe/outfit guide, I've included a few dressy pieces and 56 dressy outfit ideas for day-to-day needs like baby showers, PTO meetings, recitals, date night, church services, etc.
