Overview of the Calendar Page: Creating Custom Outfit Calendars & More
The Calendar page gives you a day-by-day plan for what to wear, so you don’t have to think about it each morning.
Getting to the Calendar
Tap Calendar in the menu. On a phone it’s at the bottom of the screen. On a computer it’s at the top.
Official Frump Fighters Calendars
You’ll see the official Frump Fighters calendar for Extended Women’s Essentials. If you own Women’s Business, you’ll see that calendar too.
Following an official calendar means you’re wearing the same outfit formula as the rest of the community each day.
In the Southern Hemisphere? Tap the globe icon to switch hemispheres.
Official calendars can’t be edited directly. To make changes, create a custom calendar (below). Custom calendars are a Premium feature.
Creating a Custom Calendar
Tap Add custom calendar next to the calendar menu. On a phone, it’s a pink + button.
Under Calendar Type, you can choose:
- Start with a blank calendar — no days are filled in, so you choose every outfit yourself.
- Create duplicate of official Frump Fighters calendar — a copy of the official calendar that you can edit.
- Automatically choose outfits based on my weather — the app picks outfits for you based on your weather and, if you want, your closet. This is the most popular option.
To create a weather-based calendar:
- Tap Add custom calendar.
- Enter a Calendar Name.
- Under Calendar Type, select Automatically choose outfits based on my weather.
- Under Collections, check the outfit collections you want in this calendar. Only collections you own are listed. The Men’s collections don’t include outfits, so they aren’t listed.
- Enter your Location. In the United States you can use a zip code. Anywhere else, type a city name and pick it from the list.
- Enter the Number of Outfits. The most you can add at once is 365. You can add more days later when they run out.
- Choose an Only outfits I can make setting (see below).
- Tap Create Calendar.
The app will take a moment to generate your outfits.
Only outfits I can make
- Any outfit from my collections — shows all outfits, whatever is in your closet. Use this if you haven’t set up your closet yet.
- Broad: Top + Bottom or Dress only — you own the main pieces. Accessories and shoes are optional. This is the setting we recommend once your closet is set up.
- Strict: All pieces — you own every piece in the outfit. We don’t recommend this because it narrows your options a lot.
When you choose Broad or Strict, a Filter by closet option appears so you can use pieces from just one closet.
This is handy for a few things:
- Vacations: make a closet with only the pieces you’re packing, then create a calendar for the length of your trip. See How to Plan Your Vacation Outfits.
- Leaving certain pieces out: if you don’t want skirts or dresses, for example, move the pieces you do want into a separate closet and create the calendar from that closet.
Note: if a closet doesn’t have much variety, you may get repeated or empty days.
Month View and Week View
Switch between Month and Week at the top of the page. Tap Today to jump back to the current day.
Month view
- See all your outfits in a smaller size at a glance.
- On a phone, tap an outfit to bring up options at the bottom of the screen.
- On a computer or tablet, tap the three dots on the outfit image.
The options are:
- View Details — see the outfit larger, with the outfit breakdown.
- Choose an Outfit — open the Outfit Picker to pick a different outfit for that day.
- Shuffle Outfit — the app checks the current weather where you live and suggests a better match. Great for days that are warmer or colder than usual. (Premium)
Week view
- See outfits in a larger size.
- Tap the pink shuffle arrow above an outfit to get a new suggestion based on that day’s weather.
- Tap the pencil above an outfit to open the Outfit Picker. Choose your options, tap Find Outfits, then tap the outfit you want for that day.
Rearranging Outfits With Drag and Drop
In Month view on a custom calendar, you can swap two days.
- Press and hold an outfit until it lifts off the calendar.
- Drag it onto the day you want. Make sure that day is highlighted.
- Let go. The two outfits swap places.
Seeing Outfits With Your Pieces
If you’ve saved your own version of an outfit number, the calendar shows your photo or flat lay instead of the Frump Fighters example.
If you see the Frump Fighters profile at the top of an outfit, you haven’t saved your own version of it yet.
- Open the outfit.
- Turn on My Pieces to see it with pieces from your closet.
- Tap Save Now, or tap Customize to make changes first. Saving customized outfits is a Premium feature.
Outfit of the Day on the Home Page
The Outfit of the Day on the Home page pulls from your calendars. Tap the calendar name there to choose which calendar it uses.
Renaming, Duplicating, or Deleting a Calendar
- Open the calendar menu at the top of the Calendar page.
- Tap the three dots next to your custom calendar.
- Choose the option you want.
Deleting a calendar is permanent.
