How To Check If An Item You’re Buying Will Coordinate With Your Pieces
As you’re building your wardrobe with items from the Collection (or Collections) you own, it’s helpful to understand how they will work with one another.
Let’s explore how to leverage the Closet feature to curate a wardrobe where the pieces work harmoniously with one another.
Using Filters for Better Coordination
Imagine you’re shopping online for a patterned skirt and want to see how it would look with the solid tops you already own.
The filters in the Closet section can help you visualize this:
- Navigate to the Closet.
- Begin by selecting the Tops category.
- Expand the pattern filter on the left-hand side of the page.
- If you’re using your phone, tap Show Filters to reveal these options.
- To narrow down to just solid tops, uncheck the Print filter and the None filter (this is typically used for accessories).
- Now, you can scroll through your solid tops and get a sense of how they might pair with the patterned skirt.
‘Trying On’ New Items Virtually
A step further in optimizing your wardrobe coordination involves ‘trying on’ a piece with the items already in your wardrobe.
For instance, if you’re considering buying a print skirt, here’s how to visualize how it will fit into your collection:
1. Adding the potential item to your Closet
- Take a screenshot of the skirt you’re eyeing online.
- Navigate to the Closet.
- Tap Edit for the skirt.
- If you already have customized this item, you can add a second option by tapping Add New.
- Upload the screenshot
- Tap Crop & Remove Background.
- Tap Update to see the new item in your closet.
2. Viewing the potential item within your Outfits
- Within the Closet, tap the Details link next to the print skirt entry.
- This will bring up the Details card, offering additional information about the piece.
- In the Coordination section, you’ll find a list of other pieces in the Collection that the skirt should pair well with. Note: Coordination information is specifically provided for patterned pieces or those recommended in an accent color.
- Scroll down and tap Outfit ideas using this piece.
- This will lead you to the Outfits page where you can see the skirt incorporated into various outfit formulas.
- Toggle My Pieces to see how the skirt fits within different outfits.
Updating or Reverting Closet Pieces
Once you’ve seen how the skirt integrates with your collection, you can return to the Closet to make any necessary adjustments.
- If you decide to add the skirt to your wardrobe, tap Edit to add Store, Brand, and url information about it for others who might be interested. entry in the Closet page.
- Conversely, if the piece doesn’t suit your collection, tap Edit and select Revert to Example Piece Image to restore the original Frump Fighters item to your Closet.
