Cost Breakdown

(tax included)

Slip-on Sneakers: 53.26 – 25 (Macy’s money) – 13.26 (Gift card) = $15.00

I was so excited to finally check this item off my shopping list for the Winter Wardrobe plan. Slip-on sneakers like these are trending right now, and VERY mom friendly. Although I have recommended them on many blog posts, I just now got myself a pair!

How did I only pay $15? 1) I had Macy’s money from the Christmas gift my husband got from Macy’s while they were running a promotion 2) I used a gift card 3) I got free shipping because I reached the minimum purchase amount.

Here’s why I love them:

  • They work year round (yes, spring, summer, fall AND winter!)
  • They are comfortable
  • They are trending

This is one of those clothing items that are not only convenient, but take your mom outfits to the next cuteness level.

If you have the habit of wearing running shoes whenever you’re out, a pair of these will help you break that habit while still enjoying the comfort of a “sneaker.” I highly recommend them!

Macys.com has a few options, but they are pretty popular at any store. I’ve also seen a quilted pair for under $25 offered on Groopdealz.com.

Old Navy Pajama Pants and Camis: $23.35

Earlier in December I saw that Old Navy had their pajama pants for $5 each and camis for $3.50 in-store. I was tied to the house the the kids that day but my sister was out and about and kindly picked some up for me! Her dear husband put up with a lot as I requested photos (and then more photos) of what they had in stock. Hey, I was putting my blog principles into practice: only get what you LOVE. I couldn’t know if I’d love it until I’d seen it!

I was so happy to snag new pajamas as mine were literally threadbare and “holey.” And camis… well that’s a revolving door.

As noted above, the other $21.73 from our budget was spent on clothing needs for the boys this month.

It all came out to exactly $60 (give or take a few cents) which was my budget for the month (our current family budget for clothes is $60/month).

Received as gifts

I received several items from my shopping list as Christmas gifts! I’m picturing them here:

#1 Genuine Leather Riding Boots, Macy’s (got them 50% off and used Ebates to get 7% back as well; also got $25 Macy’s gift money due to promotion at the time.)

#2 Fuzzy Polka-dot Bathrobe, Amazon (similar) (for all those early blogging mornings!)

#3 Infinity Scarf, Target

#4 Moccasin Slippers

Goals for January

The only items I’m looking for currently are a nursing-friendly knee-length dress, thick tights, and a fitted sweater. These would finish off my shopping list for the Winter Wardrobe plan.

There’s no urgency though. I have plenty of outfit variation with the pieces I already have! It’s so much fun!
