Have you ever heard the proverb “In the abundance of counselors, there is wisdom”? Similarly, I think in the abundance of fashionable mamas, there is inspiration!

Thanks to the great world wide web, moms have a wealth of information about easy fashion available for free.

I started this blog because I wanted to learn how to find my style and create a useful, easy wardrobe as a mom. It’s been exciting to see the reception from other moms with the same goal– the blog is really starting to take off just 6 months after I set it live.

And the other exciting thing is, I’m not the only mom who has fallen in love with fashion and now shares her insights on a beautiful blog. I’ve come across so many brilliant, sweet, and inspirational ladies who have so much to offer. Each with their own personal style, each with their own tips and experience to offer.

I want a way to showcase these ladies for you all so that you, mama, never run out of inspiration for fighting the frumpy monster. As a mom of (almost) 2, I’m not able to publish new content every single day, but other mamas around the blogosphere help fill in those gaps with their own brilliant content. It’s time you met some of them.

That’s why I decided to start a series (might be a mini series, might go on forever… who knows) where I’ll be posing a mom fashion question to other style bloggers and collating their responses in one place for you to take in all at once. I hope you’ll treat yourself to a few moments browsing their blogs and finding new places to draw inspiration.

Our first question is:

What is your go-to mom outfit to look chic but feel comfortable?

Here’s what our mom bloggers had to say:

Valerie from The Style Fileswww.the-style-files.com

My go-to mom outfit is one where I don’t have to overthink it. I reach for classic, neutral pieces because they always go together (and makes outfit planning super quick!) Then, I just add fun accessories to up the chic factor. Case in point: I took a cotton (read: super comfortable!) black dress, added a fun belt and lace up sandals and a jean jacket as an extra layer in case I get cold. Simple, comfy yet put together…a win in my book!  When I wear this dress in the fall, I’d probably wear it with an infinity scarf or statement necklace and a pair of booties. Totally different look by swapping out the accessories!

I’m ALL about comfort for sure, since I spend most of my day chasing around a busy 14-month old! My “go-to” outfit is definitely some distressed boyfriend jeans, a slouchy white v-neck tee, my Gap slides, and usually my wide-brim hat (in case my hair needs to be washed and I don’t have time!) #momlife!

Shannon from Gamine & Stripeswww.gamineandstripes.com

For fall, my go-to outfit is: jeans, tee, and a knit or ponte blazer or a cardigan and cute flats with a fun print like leopard or snake skin. I love how a blazer (machine washable of course) takes my outfit to the next level – an easy way to look stylish and pulled together. My style is definitely Parisian Chic. I also love an arm party – it’s easier to wear than a necklace when you have young kids…doesn’t hinder mom duties. I usually wear a gold cuff from H&M and a men’s watch I found in my husband’s drawer he’s never worn that he’s had stashed since college.  Or, I really love my wrap bracelet from Chloe & Isabel. You can wear it was a necklace, headband or bracelet. I usually style it as a bracelet.

Victoria from The Mummy Chronicles, www.themummychronicles.com

My go-to mom outfit is all about keeping things simple. Since I work from home I can be in a meeting part of the day or meeting contractors in a messy flip later that same day. I need to keep things versatile. I wear a lot of denim in colors, white, black and dark washes paired with a graphic or stripe tee and blazer mixed with ballet flats or slip on sneakers. Tab sleeved shirts and button downs are classic and always chic and can take me through my days.  It really depends on whether I’m feeling more feminine (ballet flats) or casual that day on which version I wear.  It’s easy for most seasons and can really help me play up my mood and personal style.

I am all about comfort so my go to mom outfit would be a pair of distressed denim with a white tee (I’m forever on the hunt for the perfect white tee), a statement necklace, and a pair of Converse. Now that it’s fall I might swap out the Converse for cute riding boots and add a cardigan! It’s a comfortable enough outfit to be at the park in but you still look put together.

In the summertime maxi dresses are my go-to suggestion! Comfortable and so, so easy! They require almost no thought and make you look completely pulled together! For cooler temperatures, grab a fitted blazer. Your easy jeans and tee outfit suddenly looks so chic!

I love wearing a black & white striped t-shirt, jeans, and ankle booties. To top off the outfit, I add a utility vest or leopard print scarf.

Tabitha from Tabitha Lane Blog, www.tabithalane.com

My go to outfit without a doubt is my chambray shirt and skinnies. I switch off between my black and white jeans. It’s easy, comfortable, nursing friendly and is a classic style that looks good on everyone!

Jess from The Simple Sweetheart, www.thesimplesweetheart.com

My go to mom outfit to be comfortable, but still look cute is definitely a solid color long sleeve shirt (think Target/Old Navy) with a scarf to dress it up. I love this look for the fall and winter, and it makes it so easy to dress up a plain and comfy top!

Emily from Happily Lindsey,  www.happilylindsey.com

My go-to mom outfit that is comfortable but makes me feel chic is a pair of black jeans, a button down denim shirt, and some booties. Depending on the time of the year, I change up shoes and accessories, but for fall, I definitely love throwing a great button down denim shirt like this one, a great pair of distressed black jeans like these babies, and a great pair of neutral booties. Make sure you own a pair of great booties; they are your workhorse shoes that are cute and always fashionable, too! Definitely worth the investment. Anywhere from $100-$200 is a good price point for a great quality shoe that will last. I tend to go with black jeans since being a mom can be messy and black is not only forgiving with your figure, but they’re forgiving with any stains you may get from sticky fingers that are hanging onto your legs! Throw on a floppy hat and you’re instantly the most stylish (yet most comfortable!) mom around!
